The cylinder liner has given me a great deal of trouble. In part, being unwell at times has not helped but a lack of concentration at critical times, is the main reason for crating more 'scrap' However I eventually completed the task and have now moved on to the honing procedure as described in issue two of the Model Engine Builders magazine. A magazine I am more than happy to recommend if you are interested in model engines. The honing article recommends using brass as the hone and descibes how to make one. Diamond lapping paste is also recommended. I found prices in the UK extremely high and found a better deal on eBay when buying from Hong kong. It doesn't take too long to arrive and is far cheaper. In fact I got two packets for what one tube would cost in the UK. The full procedure will be added to a new section to be added soon. However if you can't wait then email me and I will oblige. |
