Number1 To save money by not buying a new MT2 collet holder, I bought this MT2 to MT3 adaptor instead. Both my lathes have MT2 tailstocks. However, due to its overall length it is not as firm as I should like! So I will now have to buy the MT2 collet holder in anyhow! Anyone want to buy the adaptor in photo 1 above? |
Number 2 I set my top slide over to twenty nine and a half degrees required for screw cutting using the engraved base. This is not right and n wonder I was not impressed with the results! The degree's are correct its the axis against which they are set that is wrong. Forget the graduations on the top slide base. The angle is set against the 'y' axis so its a much steeper angle and therefore a better result. (see Mills crankcase diary entry 19th Feb 2008) |
