Welcome to mikes-models.com. I am, like many others, a self taught model engineer. When I say that, I mean I have
not received any formal training. However, I have benefited from many, many magazine articles, and more recently,
training DVD's.

My aim for this site is to 'share' with others, my experiences and lessons hard learned. I also want to promote the
model engineering hobby to as many new people as possible.

I have several projects underway. I tend to work through problems by changing tasks then come back to them only to
find a solution presents itself in the meantime.  The brain is a wonderful piece of engineering! It continues to work on
many different levels at the same time. Most of which we are unaware of until the answer 'pops' into our consciousness.

The Mills 1.3cc diesel engine build is progressing and the day when it either spits into life, or I buy a dog to
kick, comes closer. This is because I have reviewed my approach to the building of current projects from
being on a rotation to concentrating on only one. The Mills. See the build in more detail by going to the
Mills build pages.

Once this is completed, the focus will fall upon the Fowler traction engine for which I have very itchy
fingers......
State of play as of 22nd July 2008
but don't be conned..no piston yet.....
